Softball Recap: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. Monterey Wildcats
Jackson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell victim to a tough 13-7 defeat at the hands of the Monterey Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Jackson County of the 15-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Makynzee Schneider was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Robinson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Jackson County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Monterey, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Jackson County will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Watertown at 5:30 p.m. Jackson County will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Monterey, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Clay County at 5:30 p.m.
