Baseball Game Preview: Olmsted Falls Bulldogs vs. Avon Eagles

For the second straight game, Olmsted Falls will face off against Avon. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Olmsted Falls beat Avon 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Joey Goetz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Olmsted Falls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Perkins, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Perkins also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Andrew Norton was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Avon's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Olmsted Falls, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
