Football Recap: North Sunflower Academy Comes Up Short

North Sunflower Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lee Academy. The Rebels had to suffer through a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 26-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

North Sunflower Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lee Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Sunflower Academy will host Delta Streets Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Lee Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Marvell Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 35.7 points per game this season.
