Softball Recap: Rowlett Comes Up Short

Rowlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the Plano East Panthers. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 11-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rowlett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Grant, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Julissa Casta?eda was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Rowlett's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Plano East, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles duke it out with the Owls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Plano East, they will welcome McKinney Boyd at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinney Boyd will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Plano East surely won't give up without a fight.
