Preview: Berkeley Springs Indians vs. Hancock Panthers
The Berkeley Springs Indians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hancock Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-27, which was the final score in Berkeley Springs' tilt against Keyser last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hancock, who are still winless after their eighth match. They took a serious blow against Northern on Thursday, falling 59-26. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Northern is ranked 112th).
Berkeley Springs bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hancock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Berkeley Springs against Hancock when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 43-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkeley Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
