Basketball Recap: Seton Hall Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against Columbia last Saturday, Seton Hall Prep came back down to earth. The Seton Hall Prep Pirates fell 60-51 to the Gill St. Bernard's Knights on Monday. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Seton Hall Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anthony Gonzalez posted 13 points and four steals. Gonzalez is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Connor Herring was another key player, putting up five points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Seton Hall Prep fell to 4-1. As for Gill St. Bernard's, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Seton Hall Prep and Maret will round out the year against one another at at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Seton Hall Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season. As for Gill St. Bernard's, they will take on Paramus Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
