Soccer Game Preview: Appomattox County vs. Chatham

The Appomattox County Raiders will head out to square off against the Chatham Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Appomattox County has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Appomattox County managed to slip by Nelson County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Raiders lost 7-0 to the Governors on Wednesday. Appomattox County have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatham on the other hand, have had a phenomenal season so far and haven't lost a game yet. They blew past Altavista 10-2 on Wednesday. Chatham might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Altavista from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Delaney Haymore led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for five goals all by herself.

Appomattox County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2. As for Chatham, their win bumped their record up to 8-0-1.

Appomattox County might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Chatham in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
