Preview: Empire Ravens vs. Tombstone Yellow Jackets
Empire and Tombstone are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Empire Ravens will head out on the road to square off against the Tombstone Yellow Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Empire comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Empire didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Palo Verde, but they still walked away with a 25-20 win. The victory was just what Empire needed coming off of a 75-11 loss in their prior match.
Empire got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was ADDYSON KEELING out in front who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Tombstone's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morenci.
Empire's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-14. As for Tombstone, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Empire was dealt a bruising 53-7 defeat at the hands of Tombstone in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Empire avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
