Softball Recap: Seymour Eagles vs. Cocke County Fighting Cocks

Seymour extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-15 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Cocke County Fighting Cocks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fighting Cocks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss back in April.

As for Cocke County, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4-1. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Cocks, who have now won 24 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Cocke County's part, Hailee Hartsell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Hartsell has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
