Softball Recap: Belgrade Drops Highest Score of Season Against Russell

Belgrade got themselves on the board against Russell on Thursday, but Russell never followed suit. They blew past the Rustlers 14-0. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Russell's batters probably weren't too happy with Olivia Mills, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Mills has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Belgrade got a massive performance out of Carly Stephens, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Stephens a new career-high. Teagan Bowler was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Belgrade was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Belgrade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 6-1-1 record this season. As for Russell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Belgrade has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Great Falls on the 12th. As for Russell, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against Skyview on the 12th.
