Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Tuesday.

Reese Sauer paced Mitchell's offense, picking up eight kills. Sauer got some help from Kapri Stover and her 14 assists. Ellison Paetow controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Gordon-Rushville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Coincidentally, Mitchell and Gordon-Rushville will both be playing Bayard the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 3:30 p.m.
