Basketball Recap: Fitz Guinan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mohave

Coconino's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They strolled past the Mohave Thunderbirds with points to spare, taking the game 62-48. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Coconino's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fitz Guinan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Those ten boards gave Guinan a new career-high. Oryon Huayhualla was another key player, going 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Mohave still got an impressive performance from Kingzten Bristol, who posted 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Cook, who put up nine points.

Coconino moved to 9-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mohave, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7.

Coconino didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-60 win against Bradshaw Mountain on the 14th. As for Mohave, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 46-42 victory against Mingus on the 10th.
