Basketball Recap: Alabama School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Alabama School for the Deaf lost against Florida School for the Deaf & Blind back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Alabama School for the Deaf Silent Warriors had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Silent Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 602nd in Alabama, while the Dragons are ranked 260th in Florida).

Alabama School for the Deaf used a three-pronged attack on offense: Angel Maddox, Aiyana Fanning, and Dejia Ware posted two points each. Alyssa Thomas held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Alabama School for the Deaf has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Alabama School for the Deaf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-6 loss against Winterboro on the 3rd. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they have also already played their next game, a 44-42 defeat against St. Johns Country Day on the 6th.
