On Tuesday, Sumrall faced South Jones in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sumrall Bobcats put the hurt on the South Jones Braves with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit South Jones with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caroline Siders (2), Ashton Stringfellow, and Addie Siders.

Sumrall's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for South Jones, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumrall will take on Richland in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sumrall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season. As for South Jones, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Pike at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
