Softball Game Preview: Edward Little Red Eddies vs. Bangor Rams

Edward Little and Bangor are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Red Eddies will take on the Rams on Tuesday. Edward Little is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Edward Little is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They beat Brewer by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The game was the first time the Red Eddies have beaten the Witches on their field since June 8, 2021.

Chloe LeBlanc made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Galway, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

Edward Little kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bangor faced Camden Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams never let the Windjammers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on four straight.

Not much got past Emma Tripp, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Camden Hills off the board.

On the hitting side, Bangor secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Sophie Lynch, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Victoria Jarnich also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bangor's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Edward Little, their record now sits at 13-6.
