Softball Game Preview: Russellville Panthers vs. Ohio County Eagles

Russellville hasn't had much luck against Ohio County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Russellville is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Bowling Green, falling 14-4.

Meanwhile, Ohio County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-5 to Logan County.

Laynee Segers (2025) and Brylie Keown (2028) stepped up to the plate in a big way. Segers (2025) went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Keown (2028) went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Talynn Clark (2026) was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Ohio County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14-1. As for Russellville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

Russellville suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Ohio County when the teams last played back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
