Soccer Recap: Howard Tech Comes Up Short

The Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers didn't have quite enough to beat the Cookeville Cavaliers on Saturday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Howard Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Cookeville are ranked 15th).

Howard Tech's goal came courtesy of Jaime Roman Pablo, who's now up to 14 this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Howard Tech and nudges their season record down to 11-8-1. As for Cookeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-1-2 record this season.

Howard Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cookeville, they will be playing at home against Houston on Tuesday. Houston will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Cookeville surely won't give up without a fight.
