Volleyball Game Preview: Grantsburg Pirates vs. Luck Cardinals

Grantsburg has gone a perfect 10-0 against Luck recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pirates will take on the Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Grantsburg will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Grantsburg earned a 3-1 win over Shell Lake.

Grantsburg had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Luck didn't have quite enough to beat Frederic on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Luck sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-10.

Grantsburg's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Luck, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Grantsburg took their win against Luck when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
