Westlake is 9-1 against North Olmsted since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Demons will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Westlake is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Westlake and Buckeye, and Buckeye kept the tradition alive. The Demons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucks on Wednesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.
Despite their loss, Westlake saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rowan Krall, who had four digs and two aces, was perhaps the best of all. Reda Elder also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
Meanwhile, North Olmsted lost 3-0 to Bay on Thursday.
North Olmsted took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-18, 25-19.
Like Westlake, North Olmsted lost despite seeing results from several players. Nela Bosch led the charge by getting ten digs and two assists.
Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for North Olmsted, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Westlake has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.1 aces per game. However, it's not like North Olmsted struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
