Georgia high school football: Jack Polhill of Trinity Christian tops receiving yardage leaderboard

Consistency has helped Jack Polhill of Trinity Christian (Dublin) take the the top spot in the MaxPreps Georgia receiving yardage leaderboard to this point of the 2022 high school football season.

The only member of this week's top 10 to go over 100 yards receiving in every contest he has played in this season, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior leads the Peach State with 699 yards receiving yards and six touchdowns on 28 catches.

Polhill torched Bulloch Academy for seven catches and a season-high 148 yards and a score in a 57-55 loss earlier this month. Head coach Jed Marsh’s star receiver and return man also reeled in a season-high nine catches for 142 yards in a 41-40 triumph over Piedmont Academy late last month.

With just four games under his belt, Jaden Gibson of Rabun County (Tiger) trails Polhill by 38 yards after hauling in 33 catches for 661 yards and 10 trips to the end zone during a 4-0 start for the Wildcats. The 6-2, 175-pound receiver kicked off his senior season by reeling in eight passes for 273 yards and four scores in a 49-3 win over Haralson County.

Brady Kluse of Harrison (Kennesaw), who has gone over 100 yards receiving three times this season, has hauled in 32 balls for 581 yards and eight scores during a 1-4 start for the Hoyas. His eye-opening performance came against Denmark Sept. 9 when he caught 12 balls for 211 yards and a pair of scores in a 25-21 loss.

Bailey Stockton of Prince Avenue Christian (Athens) and Carter Hays of First Presbyterian Day (Macon) round out the top five with 555 and 550 yards receiving, respectively. Both receivers have made four trips to the end zone this fall.
