Basketball Game Preview: West Trojans vs. McGregor Bulldogs

The West Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the McGregor Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

West is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since December 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 80-60 margin over Maypearl. The Trojans pushed the score to 61-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

McGregor hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They skirted past Robinson 43-41. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the better team in the second half.

The victory snapped West's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-8 record. As for McGregor, their record now sits at 7-12.

West came up short against McGregor in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 53-42. Can West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
