Soccer Game Preview: Simi Valley vs. Westlake

Simi Valley and Westlake are an even 3-3-1 against one another since December of 2014, but likely not for long. The Simi Valley Pioneers will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against the Westlake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Simi Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monday just wasn't the day for Simi Valley's offense. They fell just short of Crescenta Valley by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westlake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Royal on Monday as Westlake made off with a 5-1 victory. Considering the Warriors have won three matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Westlake pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three games. As for Simi Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
