Basketball Recap: Xavier Takes a Loss

Xavier has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 57-42 to the Prairie Hawks. The Saints were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Xavier's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Looking ahead, Xavier will host Cedar Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cedar Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Xavier likes a good challenge. As for Prairie, they will head out to take on Dubuque Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
