Soccer Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

Jasper managed to keep up with Bridge City until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Jasper Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Bridge City Cardinals. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jasper's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3-1. As for Bridge City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jasper will square off against Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Bridge City, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bridge City duke it out with the Silsbee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridge City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
