Football Game Preview: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers vs. Steel Valley Ironmen

The Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers will challenge the Steel Valley Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Steel Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, who comes in off a win.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart took a 28-point defeat the last time they faced off against South Park, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Eagles 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since October 25, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Steel Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 18-14 to Apollo Ridge. While the Ironmen didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 7-3 in the first quarter.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will have to contain Da`Ron Barksdale as he made an impact in Steel Valley's last game. He rushed for 120 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Barksdale is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 109 every time he's taken the field this season. Terec Seibles got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Seibles, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Steel Valley, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart took a serious blow against Steel Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 42-7. Thankfully for the Chargers, Donald Barksdale (who rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
