Volleyball Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. Herbert Hoover Huskies

Nitro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Herbert Hoover Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17.

Nitro's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Hyatt, who had four digs and three aces. Hyatt is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Braelyn Adkins was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five matchups.

Nitro's loss dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Herbert Hoover, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 46-8-1 record this season.

Nitro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Capital on the 23rd. Herbert Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
