Preview: Moravia Mohawks vs. Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves
The Moravia Mohawks are on the road again on Friday and play against the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Moravia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 460 points over their last eight matches.
Even though Lone Tree scored an imposing 33 points last Friday, Moravia still came out on top. Moravia took their matchup against Lone Tree 45-33.
Meanwhile, Winfield-Mt. Union put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Belle Plaine 64-8 at home. The result was nothing new for Winfield-Mt. Union, who have now won seven matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Cam Buffington had a dynamite game for Winfield-Mt. Union, rushing for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also picking up 41 receiving yards. Buffington hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Cole Milks and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Winfield-Mt. Union's win.
Moravia's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Winfield-Mt. Union, their win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Moravia lost to Winfield-Mt. Union on the road by a decisive 64-50 margin when the teams last played back in August of 2022. Can Moravia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
