Volleyball Game Preview: Canyon Cougars vs. Clemens Buffaloes

The Canyon Cougars will square off against the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Canyon barely beat Johnson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.

While Canyon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 27-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clemens, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against San Marcos on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Rattlers: they've now won seven in a row.

Clemens was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-10.

Clemens' victory bumped their record up to 16-19. As for Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 26-13.

Everything went Canyon's way against Clemens in their previous meeting back in September, as Canyon made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Buffaloes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
