Baseball Game Preview: Bridgeland Bears vs. Klein Cain Hurricanes

For the second straight game, Bridgeland will face off against Klein Cain. The Bears will face off against the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeland's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Klein Cain's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bridgeland heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Klein Cain by a score of 4-2. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Klein Cain's part, Connor Haefele looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Haefele has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blaine Bullard, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Alex Mayon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Klein Cain is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bridgeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-6-2.
