Highlands has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Hayesville Yellowjackets at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Highlands took a serious blow against Murphy, falling 73-45. Highlands has struggled against Murphy recently, as their game on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hayesville came up short against Swain County on Friday and fell 51-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hayesville has scored all season.
Highlands bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Hayesville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
