Soccer Game Preview: Lubbock-Cooper vs. Amarillo

The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates will challenge the Amarillo Sandies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lubbock-Cooper is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Monterey on Tuesday. They came up short against the Plainsmen, falling 6-1. Lubbock-Cooper were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-0.

Meanwhile, Amarillo managed to keep up with Monterey until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Sandies lost 3-0 to the Plainsmen.

With the loss, Lubbock-Cooper broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-9-2. As for Amarillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-4.

Lubbock-Cooper beat Amarillo 2-0 in their previous matchup back in February. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Sandies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
