Horizon is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight matches on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Erie. Even if Horizon couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Monarch fell victim to Fairview and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The defeat continues a trend for Monarch in their meetings with Fairview: they've now lost four in a row.

Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1.

Horizon beat Monarch by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
