Baseball Game Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Sanger West Hornets

The Dos Palos Broncos will be taking part in a tournament against the Sanger West Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Dos Palos' tournament run continued when they took on Madera South on Tuesday. Neither the Broncos nor the Stallions could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 5-5 tie.

Meanwhile, Sanger West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Immanuel. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hornets have suffered since February 26th.

Victor Valadez put in work no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Valadez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Mariscal, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Dos Palos' draw gives them a new season record of 7-9-1. As for Sanger West, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
