Recap: Wallkill Panthers vs. Goshen Central Gladiators
The Wallkill Panthers were the 28-24 winner over the Goshen Central Gladiators when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Wallkill's tough 42-20 defeat to Goshen Central on Friday might stick with them for a while. Wallkill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wallkill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Bartolone, who threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Brown, who picked up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wallkill's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Goshen Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Wallkill has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Kingston at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Kingston has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 2. As for Goshen Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Washingtonville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
