Basketball Recap: Chester Comes Up Short

Chester lost against Roxana back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chester Yellowjackets fell 46-33 to the Roxana Shells.

Roxana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cohen Dugan, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Maberry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Chester has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Roxana, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Chester will take on Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Roxana, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Salem at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
