Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jamarion Fling and Zamaurious Robertson Lead Dillon to Victory

Dillon waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Marlboro County Bulldogs 59-57. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dillon was led to victory by Zamaurious Robertson and Jamarion Fling. Robertson posted 21 points and three steals, while Fling put up 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Fling has posted since back in January of 2024. Jazier Walker was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Purvis, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Tre Blakeney, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Dillon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Marlboro County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Dillon has already played their next game (against Loris), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marlboro County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-56 victory against Lee Central on the 18th.
