Softball Recap: Navarre Raiders vs. Pace Patriots

Suggested Video

Navarre had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 13-9 to make it four. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pace Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-9 loss back in April.

Navarre saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Riddle, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Pace, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games.

On Pace's side, Hannah DeMarcus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. DeMarcus has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Britten Kettler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby McLean, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As of now, neither Navarre nor Pace have any future games scheduled.
