AA District 5 recap November 13, 2013

Sequoyah added to the longest winning streak in AA District 5 this week by beating Chattanooga Central, 34-3. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Chiefs.

Polk County led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Sequatchie County.

Sequoyah's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brett King threw for 178 and 2 touchdowns and Alex Stakely had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Drew Carson contributed 123 yards. Garrett Dalton helped Sequoyah's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 40 yards.

Carson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Bill Satterfield's team topped the Pounders. Teammate King added to the ground attack by rushing for 71 yards.

Sequoyah's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Chiefs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. King has thrown for 2,142 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Dalton has 60 catches for 943 yards.

The Chiefs' Dalton is only 57 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Hixson. So far this year, he has garnered 60 catches for 943 yards.

Sequoyah made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,176 from 2,678. The improvement was the result of a 34-3 victory over Chattanooga Central last week.
