Baseball Recap: Weston Ranch Wins Going Away Against Mcnair

Weston Ranch won the last time they faced McNair and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Anthony Arias and Jordan Paris were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Arias tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Meanwhile, Paris tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Arias has become a key player for Weston Ranch: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. At bat, Arias went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Paris got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Paris a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gabriel Sandoval was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Xavier Ealy was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Weston Ranch back to even at 10-10. As for McNair, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Weston Ranch will head out to square off against Ripon Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for McNair, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Stagg at 4:00 p.m.
