Soccer Recap: Beecher Plays to a Tie

For the first time this season, Beecher was forced to settle for a draw. They and the Bremen Braves finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Thursday.

Wences Baumgartner was the only thing that stood between Beecher and a shutout considering he scored both of Beecher's goals, bringing his season total up to 48 goals.

Beecher's draw gives them a new season record of 13-4-1. As for Bremen, they moved theirs to 5-6-2.

Looking ahead, Beecher will square off against Illinois Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beecher will be up against Illinois Lutheran's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.3 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bremen, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the 27th.
