Soccer Recap: Draughn Comes Up Short

Draughn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Owen Warhorses. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Draughn's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Owen, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Draughn is taking a road trip to face off against Avery County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Avery County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Owen, they will welcome Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Owen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
