Dekaney will take on Splendora in a tournament on Friday. Dekaney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Dekaney easily dispatched Northbrook on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of Sam Rayburn by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 11, 2025.

Anthony Cruz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Abraham Medina, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Splendora made sure to put some runs up on the board against Coldspring-Oakhurst on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Dekaney now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Splendora, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Dekaney came up short against Splendora in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, falling 8-5. Can Dekaney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
