Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Wins High-Profile Contest Against Sports Leadership & Management

Chaparral faced Sports Leadership & Management in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Chaparral came out on top against Sports Leadership & Management by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Bulls: they've now won five in a row.

Chaparral's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Pierce, who had 12 kills, five digs, and three aces. Pierce is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 41 games he's played dating back to last season. Adrian Ocampo was another key player, getting 12 kills and five digs.

The victory got Chaparral back to even at 7-7. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Chaparral and Liberty will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chaparral surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canyon Springs at 6:00 p.m. on April 1.
