Soccer Game Preview: North Johnston vs. Beddingfield

The North Johnston Panthers will take on the Beddingfield Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Johnston has ten straight victories, Beddingfield has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

While North Johnston's win against Spring Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers beat the Gators by a goal, winning 2-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering North Johnston's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Spring Creek are ranked 440th).

Meanwhile, Beddingfield came up short against Goldsboro on Thursday and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that Beddingfield have lost by exactly two goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Yuliana Ugalde Carbajal, which was the first she's scored this season.

Beddingfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for North Johnston, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

North Johnston took their win against Beddingfield when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
