Basketball Game Preview: Elgin Comets vs. Mt. Gilead Indians

The Elgin Comets will venture away from home to challenge the Mt. Gilead Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Elgin and five for Mt. Gilead.

On Thursday, Elgin came up short against Waynesfield-Goshen and fell 75-65.

Meanwhile, Mt. Gilead didn't have quite enough to beat Cardington-Lincoln on Wednesday and fell 35-33.

Mt. Gilead's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Elgin, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.

Elgin was dealt a bruising 54-24 defeat at the hands of Mt. Gilead in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elgin was down 35-7.
