Softball Recap: Becton Wins Going Away Against Garfield

While Becton put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Garfield. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Boilermakers with a sharp 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Francesca Buda was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Buda was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Becton got a big performance out of Alexia Milone, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Milone has posted since back in April. Kaylee Tuttle was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Becton now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Garfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Becton will face off against Wood-Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Wallington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
