Softball Recap: Troy Christian Drops Season-High Score on Northridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Troy Christian). They were the clear victors by a 29-19 margin over the Northridge Polar Bears on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Nora Inman, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Guerrero, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Troy Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Troy Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Northridge, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy Christian will head out to challenge Shawnee at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
