Baseball Game Preview: Camden Central Lions vs. Riverside Panthers

Camden Central hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Camden Central Lions take on Riverside Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Riverside took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Camden Central, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Camden Central beat Union City 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Ethen Ingram tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Amaury Rogers and Gage Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Rogers scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Johnson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Eli Latendressee was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Riverside's offense. They came up short against Chester County on Friday, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Eagles since May 7, 2019.

Camden Central picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Camden Central beat Riverside 9-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Camden Central repeat their success, or does Riverside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
