Ponderosa hasn't had much luck against Castle View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will take on the Sabercats at 4:15 p.m. Ponderosa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
While Ponderosa's victory against Highlands Ranch wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs skirted past the Falcons 8-6. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Caleb Korth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Korth was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other pitching news, Al Simmons looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Ponderosa let Nolan Van Fleet and Baylor Schultz run wild. Van Fleet went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Schultz got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was DJ Foster, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Castle View couldn't beat Legend on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Sabercats took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.
Jack Carmichael was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits.
At the plate, Jackson Grupp made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Trevor Lang was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Castle View's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Ponderosa, their record now sits at 13-9.
Castle View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ponderosa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. It's a different story for Castle View, though, as they've only averaged .355. Will they be able to contain Ponderosa's hitters?
Ponderosa couldn't quite finish off Castle View in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
