Tri-Valley posted their closest win since March 29th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Morgan Raiders, sneaking past 4-2. The Scotties haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Paiton Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Larsyn Holdsworth was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Paxson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Tri-Valley's record is now 14-7. As for Morgan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
Coincidentally, Tri-Valley and Morgan will both be playing Crooksville the next time they take the field. The Scotties will head out to face the Ceramics at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Raiders will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
